Ever found yourself dreading Monday mornings? You’re not alone.

According to Gallup's State of the Global Workplace 2023 report, around 77% of workers worldwide are experiencing some level of job dissatisfaction. And I’m guessing that figure isn’t any better today.

This includes nearly six in ten workers who are "quiet quitting," indicating they are psychologically detached from their roles.

I personally find these figures staggering, and deeply upsetting.

That’s a whole bunch of unhappy people out there, but there’s much more to it than that.

Feeling trapped in a job you hate isn’t just a career setback; it’s a health hazard.

Research from the American Psychological Association reveals that chronic work stress can lead to physical health issues, including heart disease, insomnia, and even immune system dysfunction.

Worse yet, prolonged job dissatisfaction can increase rates of depression and anxiety, erode self-worth and disrupt personal relationships.

Stress is another significant factor, with over 40% of employees globally experiencing high levels of stress at work.

All these combined studies highlight the fact that job dissatisfaction and disengagement are interconnected with our mental and physical well-being.

Only by understanding the impact that your job could be having on you, can you take the first steps toward reclaiming your wellbeing and begin creating a career that supports it.

But how and where do we start?

I totally understand that everyone’s individual situation is different, and how much we all depend on that paycheck.

So “How do you even begin when you’re just feeling so ‘stuck’?”
